HOW IT STARTED
It started in Umeå. The city of birches.
Anea has its roots in Umeå at Norrland University Hospital, where the concept was developed together with staff and patients at the Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation unit. What began as a design concept, and was awarded an iF Design Award, is now being built into a real system.
Anea Health AB was founded in Stockholm in 2026. The product is being developed today in collaboration with a clinical council with its base at Norrland University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet.
Most rehabilitation happens at home. But the home is invisible to healthcare and the family member who is there every day has no place in the system. Research shows that family support is one of the most important factors for recovery after a stroke. Yet they lack tools, guidance and a connection to the clinic. Anea Health gives caregivers a structured role and makes home rehabilitation visible to clinicians.

Rebekka Quiroz Wiberg
Founder & CEO, Anea Health AB
Rebekka won the iF Design Award for her stroke rehabilitation concept. It is what she is now building. With 13+ years of experience from Meta, NASA, Google, Netflix, Huawei and Sveriges Radio, she knows how complex products move from idea to millions of users under regulatory demands. At Meta, she led cybersecurity as lead designer in London, working on integrity and security design including SOC 2 compliance and security logging under strict regulatory demands with a global market focus.

Rebekka grew up in a family where healthcare was a given: a father who researched cancer diagnostics and a mother who is a cardiac surgery nurse. The brain and how people learn has fascinated her for a long time. Anea Health is not a career project. It is a health care project built in Sweden, with the Nordics in sight.
